Plan now to “Keep Christ in Christmas” in your family’s home this holiday season by supporting the Knights of Columbus Council #9715 Annual Nativity Advent Calendar and Christmas Card Sale. Both will be sold in the Church Narthex on November 15/16 and 22/23.

The sale will continues until supplies run out. Calendar choices are with chocolate, with stickers or with a mailing envelope and are each $8. Cards will be sold in Boxes of 15 for $10. Also available are “Keep Christ in Christmas” Silhouette Nativity Car Magnets for $5 and Advent Ring/Wreath with Candles and 11” Advent Calendars, each for $10.
Proceeds earned from this fundraiser will provide awards for the “Keeping Christ in Christmas Poster Contest” being held for grades 1 – 8 at our school.
The Council held it’s annual awards ceremony on Saturday, April 22nd. The following awards were presented:
Special Awards
Al Salviti Among other things, Al was recognized for his work with the Breaking for Bread program at St. Rose, which delivers day old bread from local bakeries to different food pantries. He also helps manage the Coats for Kids collection for St. Rose.
Tim Lescoe Tim was presented the Special Service Award for continuing to do an outstanding job as our Council’s treasurer. Tim handles the job with professionalism, humor, and patience. With the increasing use of electronic payments, the job has become increasingly complex, and Tim continues to do an outstanding job.
Family of the Year
Jim and Cathy Roberts The Roberts family contributes to the parish in so many ways. Jim has headed up the Into the Breach bible study and prayer group. Cathy has served on the pastoral council, and the ladies auxiliary. They are both eucharistic ministers and their children are each in Catholic schools.
Knight of the Year
Anthony Rosato
Anthony does so much to help our Council and the parish. He helps decorate the sanctuary for Christmas and Easter, he heads up the Rose and Rosary program, he managed the Coats for Kids collection for Corpus Christi, the Free Throw competition and he directs the DeKalb Pike Roadside Cleanup project. He is also a lector, and a member of the choir, and a Past Grand Knight.
Service Award
Ladies Auxiliary. Cheryl Flannery accepted recognition on behalf of the Auxiliary was honored for its many projects that support the parish: Collecting School Supplies for BVBM in Kensington, the Holiday Giving Tree, Stations of the Cross, Easter Egg Hunt, Pasta Nights, Annual Church Picnic, and assisting with the Pancake Breakfasts.
The Knights of Columbus would like to invite all the families of the church and their friends to the Annual Lighting of the Nativity located on the front lawn of the church on November 26 th after the 4:30 mass. Carolers from NPHS choir will be providing Christmas carols.
Please join us as we share Christmas Carols and a blessing of the Nativity.
Tickets are on sale now for the Knights of Columbus Breakfast with Santa, which will be held Sunday, December, 4 th , at Corpus Christi in the Fr. Loughran Hall. We will be offering more seating times but they will be limited to maximum of 50 people each. Each group will have their own table, unless you specifically ask to be seated with some other family. Unfortunately, there will be no games available but each child will receive a gift from Santa. Picture with Santa will be available and it will be up to each family’s discretion if the children will sit on Santa’s lap or if Santa will be standing behind the group. Our goals are simple—everyone’s safety and bringing Santa to town. Seating preference are on a first come first served basis and it is not guaranteed but we will make every effort to honor your re-quest. You will be sent a confirmation email indicating your seating time. Reservations MUST be made by December 1 st . Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to accept Walk-ins. Join us for an 8 week small group study for men. This video series is based on “Into the Breach”
an Apostolic Exhortation for Catholic men written by Bishop Thomas Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix. Bishop Olmsted calls men to something better, something great. Here, men will find a sure guide for stepping into the moral and cultural breach.
Each week we will watch a short video, followed by group discussion, reflection, goals for spiritual growth, and prayer. The cost of the program covers your study guide and light refreshments each week.
This program is presented by the Knights of Columbus, Council 9715, and is open to all men.
